Peace: A better way in times of crisis.

In times of crisis, the status quo is fear, anxiety, and despair. As children of God, we have available to us the gift of God’s Peace! The Peace He gives is not fleeting or circumstantial. Here are three ways the Peace of God will uphold you and position you in times of crisis.

Peace is Your Portion
The first key is to recognize that peace is your portion. When our hearts and minds are rooted in the Word of God, our lives are shaped around HIS reality. God is not worried, fearful, or anxious. He is full of everlasting hope and endless solutions. In the Gospel of John (16:33) Jesus says, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Jesus has overcome the world and all the trouble therein. So “TAKE HEART” today. Your Victorious Savior invites you into His Peace!

Peace is Your Protection
The second key is to recognize that Peace is Your Protection. Philippians (4:6-7) tells us, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the Peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Your role in the equation is simply bringing it all to God. As you bring your requests and petitions before God, with thanksgiving, He will exchange your anxiety for His Peace! In turn, the peace of God will encompass you and guard you.

Peace is Your Plan of Action
The third key is to recognize that peace is your plan of action. In the Gospel of Matthew (5:9) Jesus says, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” Making peace is an identifying mark of the children of God. As the world around us is looking for hope and solutions, it falls to us to accurately represent our Father. The term peacemaker infers action. Peace isn’t the natural state of our fallen world. However, we can bring the Peace of God into our world by releasing His kingdom wherever we go.

It is impossible to give away something you don’t have. As you receive God’s Peace as your portion and protection, you can freely give it away as you have freely received it!

“The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” Numbers (6:24-26)
